Coaching skills are really very much essential attributes of any type of leader. For a leader to be able to learn the proper coaching skills, he or she should undergo development coaching workshops. Different companies geared towards helping organization leaders become good coaches are now in existence, so this should not be a problem.
Of course, for leaders to become good coaches, they should also be able to have a mentor that they would be looking up to. Management coaching is, of course, an essential aspect in order to help achieve this scenario. This is a bit challenging at times since leaders feel that they already have a good set of effective coaching skills. For management coaching to be successful, it is important for the one who is going to handle the workshop to be credible and to be able to have a higher level of sensitivity to people’s feelings. Otherwise, they would not be effective.
